Tell Your Story

This space is a collective community space where LGBTQ Nigerians can share our his/her/their stories around our Nigerian and larger African identity. Through this space we seek to interrogate how our sexuality intersects with our family ties, work, spirituality, healing, gender, sexuality and relationships with lovers, friends, and the US and Nigeria. This online space will also serve as a place to collect and share authentic, honest information about our lived experiences around sexuality and gender in Nigeria and beyond. Lastly, it will serve as a space for Nigerians to connect with each other and build community. Share your story with us. Submit stories around:

  • Coming out
  • How we define ourselves in the world
  • Ongoing relationships with our parents, blood and chosen
  • Relationships with partners
  • Our work and how it impacts our gender and sexuality expression
  • Spirituality and sexuality
  • Healing from Trauma
  • Abuse: physical, sexual, emotional
  • Healthful living, living through HIV/AIDS or other STI’s
  • Poetry & Prose
